He's performed internationally with Chris Stamey\, Percy Sledge\, Donnie Elbert\, John Lee Hooker\, Miami's 4th Arrangement\, Mark Knopfler\, Sally Spring\, and Syd Straw from small local house concerts to audiences of 10\,000 plus.\nTed began drawing and painting at a young age and was included in a group show at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh when he was a mere 14 years old. Later in his career\, he designed and painted livery on race cars at Bowman Gray Stadium as well as decorated boards\, walls\, musical instruments\, and posters displaying these clandestinely throughout town turning his surroundings into garish living art. For 30 years\, his medium was three-dimensional acrylic art on canvas as well as animated sculptures from gourds. His artwork resides in countless private collections\, including members of REM.\nPresently\, Ted is working with colored pencils on paper\, expressing the consistent underlying themes of humor and absurdity.\nABOUT THE ARTIST:\nIt's been decades since Mr. Lyons had an art show in Hoboken. Several years ago\, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Despite being in the hospital over the last several months\, he continued to make drawings for this show. His energy\, humor and joy are contagious and encourage one to step out of the norm into a different world.\nABOUT THIS SHOW:\nPIGMEN OR MULEMEN\, YOU DECIDE\nYou are undoubtedly under the delusion\, or should\nsay misapprehension that we of the Cartoon\nAnimal Kingdom are lacking in the finer\nsensibilities.\nTo disprove this\, we ask you to forget our\nformer pranks and playfulness.\nWe ask you in the name of dignity and art to\nput yourselves in a receptive frame of mind and not expect from us the clowning\nwith which you generally associate us. Now let us proceed with the\n503 Social Club art celebration!\n
